Home of my Taco Tuesday!! Really great staff here. Any Tijuana you goto you can expect to find great workers there. The people here grab the door when you come in. What you don't see is the speed walking to grab that door. The food is great and seems fresh too. Every time I go i get fresh chips and if they're not fresh they have no problem switching them out. All you have to do is ask.

Disgusting!!! Not sure what the hoopla is about this franchise as hubby and I ate here and he is a huge burrito fan than I am. I mainly went here as he wanted to check it out since it is so close to home, yeaaaaa!!! Well you walk in, they take your order and you have a sit down till they call your name around all the loud music that's playing. There are all these neat flavors to try on your burrito if you like. I felt as if I was at someone's house that just started to learn how to cook burritos and kept failing. Taco Bell kept looking even more delicious as I sat there in this small, congested, place. I don't even do Taco Bell yuck!! Now we are in search for our delicious burritos spot, this place is a huge no-go. One plus is the painting on the walls. Very nice... I would not recommend eating here to friends or passerby's. On to the next!

Needed a summer night-it's-too-hot-to-cook-so-can-we-please-eat-out dinner. Funky vibe, great music (not a single Bieber or Gaga tune), and very friendly service. Think college bar meets tex-mex cantina. Kids were happy with a taco & quesadilla (in my mind I always say it like Napoleon Dynamite). Side offerings applesauce or M&Ms.... Uhm let me see, yeah the decision wasn't difficult. I ordered the beef taco otherwise known as gran culo taco. That thing is twice the size of a normal person taco! Loaded up minus jalapeño peppers because admittedly I am a wimp and can't hang with spicy. Hubby got the chimichanga with a side of rice and beans. They also offer a buffet of spicy sauces with names like "slap my a$$ and call me Sally" which my 9 year old found hilarious and felt the need to walk by a few times to investigate. The chips tasted crispy and freshly made but my kids thought they were spicy. If Moe's is your favorite haunt then think of this as his crazy hippie Aunt who has a kick. Coke products and bottled beers are available. Bathrooms are clean. Family of four $25. Outdoor covered patio seating at well. Check out the backstory of this franchise while you are there:)

This is a solid "A-OK". The food is good and filling for a fair price. The hot sauce bar is a nice touch. Service was efficient and very friendly. My wife and I went there for lunch with our granddaugher. It's very kid and family friendly and everyone will find something he or she likes on the menu. I'd recommend it for lunch or for anyone with kids.

This is a funky joint. It has good food, good service. One of the coolest things about eating here is that there is a hot sauce bar, with pump dispensers. The atmosphere is funky-fun. This is one of my Dad's favorite restaurant.

Great servers on Saturday, May 16! Very friendly, on the ball and detail oriented. I really appreciate that. Hats off to the manager. After all, it's just tortillas and whatever else. And the wet burrito is always a slam dunk. Thanks for being kid friendly too.

My oldest sister introduced me to this place on the island & it's one of my nephew's favorite places to eat, so I said "what the heck? food & family time--I'll try it!" I love crunchy tacos and that is usually what I order with a side of their chips and salsa, of course. I like that they offer this amazing sauce bar that offers everything under the sun regarding taco sauces. I am a huge sauce whore so this place was fine by me. The food always comes out in a timely fashion. The food is pretty fresh and tasty considering it's what I call American-style Mexican food. And we always receive friendly service from the cute little bubbly staff members. We have one over on my side of town, but I haven't tried that location yet. I'm sure it's all good. :)

Chicken, blackened chicken, pork and beef tacos. Only tried the tacos so can't speak of anything else buttery are yummy and filling. Even have soft whole wheat tortillas. Kids love it too. Can get a little crowded at lunchtime but they move fast. They are terrific about coming by your table to get drink refills.

Yes, it's a chain but the staff is so nice and attentive (almost too attentive, like, run ahead of you to open the door attentive) you wouldn't know it. The food is great but can be a little slow to come out (the place gets very busy on Tuesday and weekend nights). Ordering online or over the phone is easier but they always tell you to jump the line when you do that and because of the setup of the restaurant, it is very awkward to do so. The parking lot is way too small (esp now that Jersey Mike's is next door) but the hassle is worth it!

Let me start by saying that this review was from our latest experience several weeks ago...sometimes I have to think about it before I write it! First I will say that I was pleased that the management reached out to me and offered me an incentive to come back and give them a try again. Any establishment that reaches out to their customer certainly deserves a second chance. I will say that on the second go around I picked a time that they would be a little busier than the last and I must say that the service was a 150% improvement! The line was moving smoothly and it took 1 time to place my order and we paid promptly. My only complaint on the service would be that again, never did anyone come out to the patio to see if we needed another drink refill or another beer. When we went in to ask for to go containers someone came outside, took our food, packaged it up and said "I've refilled your guacamole and gave you extra chips for later". Much to my surprise later..that was not the case, just a full bag of chips. Now for the food...acceptable, nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about. Again, a huge improvement from last time. In all honesty I will say that it's not the place that will come to mind when wanting Mexican food.

Unbelievably good customer service! I was very impressed with how much help they provided as it was my first visit. The first-timer's sampler is great because it allows one to sample a variety of salsas, the cheese dip and the guacamole. I've had better cheese dip but this one is good. Their standard salsa is the best of those I sampled. I really like the chips. I was told that the guacamole was a new recipe. Since this was my first time, I have no idea what the old recipe tasted like. I am not a fan of this version. Funny how their exceptional service allowed me to overlook the guac and the cheese dip. The blackened chicken flautas were one of the entrees that was recommended and what I ended up ordering. They were DELICIOUS! I will return!

Every time we come here it is amazing!!! Even if there is mix up with the order they are super fast and friend when correcting it! The food is always amazing, the place is always clean and the hot sauce bar is always full. Sidenote: Robert is a rockstar!!!

Food, atmosphere, service and price were excellent. Am visiting from Texas and needed a quick "Mexican" food fix. Really hit the spot. Between us we had bean and cheese burrito, chicken flaunt as and queso with chips...all generous and quite tasty. Tea was excellent also.

Probably one of our favorite choices... Great servers and excellent food! Beef and bean chimi is my favorite!

Atmosphere: remember when you were in college and it was totally cool to be a bit disorganised. But, you had a totally awesome laidback vibe and eccentric décor to make up for it? That's what Tijuana Flats pulls off. That "cool vibe" Moe's fakes, well they have it here. Service: I don't know about you all but, being yelled at with "Welcome to (insert chain restaurant here)!" has gotten stale. The Stepford syndrome at Chick-Fil-A is pretty tired as well. Tijuana (this location anyway) plays the nice middle ground and makes you feel at home. Your food is brought to your table, standard for fast casual, and the team comes around about every 5 minutes to check on refills. Despite a busy dining room and not really having a server, my drink was refilled moments after it was empty. Food: I've have some bowls and some quesadillas here, both were excellent. Their veggies are always fresh and the meat is well seasoned and juicy. There's also a great sauce bar that has a wide variety of hot sauce flavours. I'm pretty picky about hot sauces and they always have at least three I love. They also rotate flavours and there's usually something new to try when I visit. Other than that, it's standard casual "Mexican"-fare of burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc. Overall Tijuana Flats is probably my preferred restaurant of this style. I'm sure I'll be back quite often.

This place was uh-mazing!!! I happened to come on a night where there was live music playing outside, so of course, I sat outside! The talent was great that night and there was a man walking around making balloon animals for the kids for tips. (Had my nieces with me at the time and they were absolutely thrilled.) Although the place was packed, there was not much of a wait for our food. The chips and queso were very delicious. It's actually a good thing that we got the "trio" with the smaller sized queso because I probably could've finished off the bigger one on my own! I had the chicken tacos and my nieces ordered the beef tacos and chimichanga. I'll admit, I snuck bites of their food when they had their heads turned! Over all it was a very enjoyable night. The food and service were great but it was the experience that won us over! If you're a fan of hot sauce, there are TONS of them for you to choose from!

Not good Tex-mex. Not even good food. Asked for soft corn tortillas with my tacos and they didn't have a clue. Don't waste your time if you like real Tex-Mex. Blah.

Fresh chips and the hot bar are good draws to get one in the door. The hot scale is accurate and the sniffle face was pretty darn hot. There was not a lot of meat in the tacos but they were tasty overall. I wouldn't necessarily order them again though. The Sevice level was impressive for a order and pay place where they bring your food once it's ready. I was asked every few minutes if there was anything I needed. This is nice, you don't have to wait in line to order another beer etc. I'm glad to see Tijuana Flats on Fleming Island. A welcome addition that easily surpasses Moes as the place I go for Mexican without waiting an eternity to sit at La Nopalera. (Still my favorite on the island)

TACO TUESDAY!!! When I don't feel like cooking on a Tuesday, the family and I head over to TF for their Two Tacos, chips and a drink for 5.49. For 5.49 these tacos are great! They are on the large side, with various toppings like cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, tomatoes, etc. Would I eat here on a day that didn't start with Tues? Probably not, but hey, feeding 4 people for 25 buck ain't too shabby.

Great place for a last min lunch and great food. The prices are very good which makes it a good choice for a last min lunch that won't break the bank. The staff is friendly, tables are always clean and the food is great. We usually sit outside and I expected to be forgotten, but the waitstaff is right on top of things. Would very much suggest giving them a try.

This is a welcome addition to Fleming Island and most certainly worth finding, the restaurant is close to Kohl's Department store and fronts on 220. All of the ingredients are fresh and you can custom design whatever you choose to suit yourself. It is simple Mexican food that is done well. They also have a wide range of sauces so you can add anything from mild to wild to your food. I have been here more than once now and I am still amazed at how friendly and helpful the staff is. I didn't think I would like their outside patio in the summer heat but a friend persuaded me to try it and they have enough fans that it is comfortable out there when the temperature is over ninety degrees and as I love to eat outside I think that is a real plus too! If you go on their web site they have a really good method of calculating the calories in what you want to order and this can be a very healthy place to eat if you make good choices. Vegetarians and carnivores should both find plenty they would like here so this would be a good place to bring a group of people to. I am glad that Tijuana Flats opened this branch on Fleming Island, between the good food and great service, it is a welcome addition to the Island.

I am so surprised at how much I enjoy Tijuana Flats on Fleming Island. Fleming Island has a dearth of dining choices, so Tijuana Flats has been a great addition to fast, casual dining on the island. The service has been great from the minute I arrive with an offer to get me a drink while I wait to place my order. I like Tijuana Flats order at the counter concept, but then servers bring your order and also refill drinks or take more orders when you are seated. I am a little obsessed with their Black Bean Tostados, which are basically eight nachos loaded with beans, onion, olives, lettuce, and sour cream. The hot sauce bar is also a good concept and I love trying a different sauce on each visit. I do have my favorite sauces, but variety is important. The only thing I find annoying is on Fridays they have a "DJ" and a balloon artist. I really enjoy Tijuana Flats when there is no special entertainment.

Was in a hurry to go to work and wanted to place an order for pick up. Every time I called I got put on hold. I was hoping that I could call; place my order, and it would be ready by the time I would be driving by there, which is about 10 minutes from my house, needless to say; I was still on hold for the 3rd time while I was already pretty much there; and I drove right by. Lost my business, and will probably not be returning as frequently.

You will either be greeted as you walk in or have the door held for you by a few beautiful ladies! As a New Jersey gent, I appreciate fine southern hospitality and this place does not lack! I came in as a huge fan of La Nopalera and left as an undetermined fan of both! A groundbreaking amount of hot sauces that will either soothe your taste buds or leave your nostrils dripping all the way out! Not as much food as you would receive from La Nopalera but the quality is just as high!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
